#EMU PROTEUS 1 INSTALL#
#EMU PROTEUS 1 PDF#
I have attached a pdf of the installation manual for your convenience. So I learned a bit more, but still wonder if there is any use for these EPROM's. Also from reading this manual I learned that the two ROM's are in fact the old EPROM's removed from the device during the upgrade process.
#EMU PROTEUS 1 HOW TO#
Thanks for the information! Today I dived further in my archives and guess what, I did find the installation manual for the Proteus/1 Orchestral Expander! This manual gives clear instructions on how to open the Proteus/1. If you can tell me how to open mine up without cracking the case, I might give it a look. Maybe there's a group for the Proteus/1 family that can help. I am active in a couple of Yahoo Groups-one for the P2000 and one for the XL-7 and other command stations. Is there a special tool?Īs for E-Mu, they haven't really existed for a number of years, so it doesn't surprise me you didn't hear from them. I tried to open my Proteus/1Plus Orchestral, but I couldn't figure out how. I wonder also is there a way to test these IC's (2x14 pins, dual-in-line?) to find out what they really are. This is what's written on a sticker on the ROM's: IP459AEMU1090 and IP458AEMU1190 and on the other side: 27PC512 47696-06 Singapore. (I do assume they contain the original samples, but I can be very wrong!) I did write to EMU, but never got an answer Recently I stumbled upon these ROM's and wonder if there is way to make use of these e.g. Many years ago I upgraded this machine, which involved removing two old ROM's for two new ones. Subject description: any (innovative) new life for these?įor quite some time I own a EMU Proteus/1.
